kite flying @ West Coast Park

inspired by Yingyi, we decided to try flying kite with PH too.. during our pak tor days, hubby n I tried kite flying once at Marina Bay and it was a total disaster... we didn't manage to fly the kite at all.. ended up sweaty with huge disappointment and a kite that can't fly.. hahahahaha...... :P

today, we finally had the courage to try again.. :P told hubby to buy a bigger kite.. maybe we will be able to fly a bigger one... hahaha.. :P hubby bought a huge one.. :P the wing span of the kite is abt a meter wide.. i think our kite is easily one of the biggest.. :P

kite couldn't fly high.. somehow, the wing kept sliding up the frame.. couldn't really catch the wind n soar...



PH is very sian n played with the string while papa n mama tried to 'rescue' the kite...

tada... innovative huh.. we couldn't find string.. so mama used plastic bag for papa to tie ard the frame to prevent the wing fr sliding.. :)

when it got high enough... he said.. '来,给我...' hahaha.. :P he refused to hold the string previously when it was not high enough... look at his super 'dao' look.. :P

hehehehe.. really happy with our successful 2nd kite flying attempt.. :) PH had lots of fun too.. our kite got entangled with another family's kite... but luckily the strings didn't snap.. :) maybe next time we can go kite flying with Yingyi and family.. :)

side note:
told hubby tt i had a deprived childhood.. other than our rare trips to the zoo when we were still very young, my childhood was spent at Hsinghai... :P not tt i dun like CO.. but other than music, I seldom have the chance to go on trips with my family.. now when i have my own kid, i make sure that i have time for my boy.. exposing him to as much outdoor activities as i can.. esp on things which i have never tried when i was a kid.. :)

Excursion to Animal Resort and Myco Farm

This sat, there's no music lesson for PH as his classmate is sick.. so we decided to bring him to Animal Resort and Myco Farm for a visit.. :) On the way, we asked if Yingyi wants to join us since she's living so near to Seletar West Farmway.. :) met at the farm n let the kids hav fun interacting with the animals.. :)

PH feeding carrot to the rabbits.. the gor gor beside PH is very nice.. when he saw tt the rabbit was finishing the carrot n reaching PH's fingers, he helped to shift the carrot so that the rabbit won't bite PH's fingers..

and finally the ducks.. :P we bought fish food as well... but there's no fish in the pond!! luckily, the ducks are not picky eaters and finished up the fish food.. :P



as usual, PH dun show fear to animals and loves to sayang n interact with the animals.. he will always ask me if the animals will bite him.. I will always reply saying that as long as he's kind to the animals, the animals won't bite.. but hubby is worried that he will assume that all animals are kind and won't bite unless he provoke them.. :P

met Connie and her family at the Animal Resort.. but PH was super shy... refused to say hello to Isabelle..

went to Myco Farm after Animal Resort.. had a guided tour in one of the cool air-conditioned barn.. a nice way to cool down aft visiting Animal Resort.. heheheheee.. :P didn't take any photo there.. but learnt quite a few interesting facts..

1) the white little 'fur' on the mushroom means that the mushroom is fresh.. not mouldy.. :P so those we saw in NTUC are not tt fresh.. :P

2) it only take one week to grow from a tiny spore to a size worth selling..

3) we dun need to wash the mushroom before cooking.. juz wipe wipe will do.. i hav been washing my mushroom.. even soaked it in water.. no wonder my mushroom is always soggy.. :P

tried the mushroom floss and mushroom soup... yummy.. both Yingyi n me bought back the soup and floss.. :P

Yingyi invited us to her place after the visit.. she cooked porridge and soup for Zofie.. there's more than enough and PH had some of the porridge and soup too... :) he loves the food.. finished up everything.. hmmm.. i shd go get a slow cooker and learn this dish too.. :)

initially, the kids played seperately.. but aft a while, they finally interact and play with each other.. nice to see the kids growing up together.. :) PH can recognise zofie when i show him zofie's blog.. he will always say '我的 zofie 妹妹..' hahaha... quite cute to hear him say tt.. :P Yingyi had a gd laugh when I told her wat PH said.. :P

PH was really tired and doze off on the way back.. and both mama n papa had a gd lazy afternoon.. hahaha.. :P

PS: all the photos in my blog are taken with my N96.. quality not bad rite? getting to prefer it to our digital cam... it's so convenient and not as bulky as the cam.. :)

tiring weekend.. :P

aft our return fr Malacca, the whole family took turn to fall sick.. first, it's PH coughing away... den mama caught the flu virus with fever and cough... den PH caught the flu virus fr mama again... den papa's turn to cough... n PH n mama still haven't recover fr their cough.... hai~~

anyway, we still had an eventful weekend... :) PH started his music class learning keyboard.. :P hee.. ya.. i sound like kiasu parent here.. :P the boy is super shy... took quite some time to warm up to class.. but his attention span is still quite short.. halfway thru the class, he started figeting lots liao.. the class ended with bubble time and he had a great deal of fun.. :) we will see if he enjoys his music class.. will continue if he shows interest.. :) if not, maybe it's still too early for him to start formal lesson..

brought him to Horsecity for pony ride aft his music class.. originally, he was supposed to go pony riding with his school.. but he missed it due to his flu.. so we decided to bring him there ourselves.. :)

he's great with animals... showing no fear usually.. :) and he loves them.. :) the pony handler said tt he's gd too.. quite steady and appeared at ease with the pony.. :)hope the boy will grow up loving animals.. :)

went Bukit Timah Plaza hawker center for lunch aft tt.. PH tried chasing birds but the floor was slippery aft drizzle... poor boy slipped while chasing the birds n cried badly... most likely due to shame than pain.. :P

went bowling with my parents, sis and her bf on sunday morning.. had much fun cheering n laughing away.. :) too bad i'm preg n can't join in the fun.. :( PH had fun running ard too.. :)

went to 'Song of the Sea' at Sentosa in the evening.. parked our car at vivo and took the monorail ride into Sentosa.. PH enjoyed the ride alot.. poor boy.. he seems to be deprived of public transports ride tt he loves any form of public transport.. n he will appear really '山龟' wowing here n there.. :P

there were fire effects and water effects which looked like lava bursting out fr the beach.. too much for PH to bear.. the poor boy was wailing away.. begging us to take him away from the show.. papa got no choice but to bring him further away fr the stage while mama continue to enjoy the show.. :P

show ended with fireworks... mama like the show while papa said he prefered the old musical fountain with nice soothing music.. :P

look at PH's teary eyes aft the show.. and ya.. it's rather warm.. so papa's face appears abit 'shiny'... :P



at the end of the day... asked PH wat he enjoyed during the show, he said.. 'tu tu train'... he's refering to the monorail ride into Sentosa..... *faint* :P oh.. he oso said that he dun like the show... his reasons were '音乐很大声.. 有爆炸..' quite surprised that he actually knows the word '爆炸'... :P

as usual... he fell asleep very fast aft such a tiring n 'exciting' day... :P

side note:
fr papa, he said that at the end of the show while waiting for me to join them at the exit, PH was shouting '快点走开，快点走开.. 有爆炸，有爆炸!!' a tourist heard PH and was laughing away... :P

PH was quite traumatised by the explosions.. didn't had a gd nite sleep.. woke up in the middle of the night asking for papa to hug hug him... was quite grouchy in the morning too..... :(
