Singapore flyer with fireworks!!

tonight, we went to the Singapore flyer.. :) the firework starts at 9pm.. but we only manage to get the ticket for 8.30pm.. so we decided to 'play cheat' and only started queueing for entry slightly past 8.30pm.. hehehe....

halfway thru the queue, the firework started!! the singapore flyer's staffs immediately allowed pple to drop out of the queue so tt they can go watch the fireworks.. but we decided to remain in the queue since we r the next to board the capsule.. :P

managed to board the capsule within few minutes and catch the rest of the fireworks... :) not really tt magnificent lah... :P

PH enjoyed himself much during the flight.. was walking ard by himself.. buzzing pple with his electrifying stares... hahahaha... got quite a few ladies sayang-ing him.. :P

updates...

it has been 3 weeks in childcare.. PH is improving everyday.. :) now, he only cries for 10min aft papa drop him there.. he's fine throughout the day.. but will sulk or cry when we pick him up at the end of the day.. :P

at home, he's always humming away... sometimes, it's twinkle twinkle little star.. sometimes it's some tune which we never heard off.. he also kept dancing.. with cute hand movements too... :) sounds like muscial rite.. :P recently, the childcare center is preparing them for their year end concert.. there's a dance for them too.. so i guess tt's y he has been singing n dancing so often...

since the start of childcare, he had caught the flu virus on week 1... kana fever on week 3.. got feng1 mo4 on week 3.. visited the GP twice and PD once.. :P both GP n PD said tt he will continue to get sick for at least 6 more mths.. but will start getting better once he build up his immunity... :)

还要抱?

PH can speak in sentences liao... he's a 100% chinese boy... cannot speak in english yet... hopefully will learn more in childcare...

anyway, sentences tt he can speak now..

and he can sing his nursury rhymes now.. as usual, in chinese... :P

he can sing twinkle twinkle little star in chinese.. he can sing ABC too.. but he will go.. 'A B C la la la G' and laaaa all the way to 'Z'... :P he likes to sing 小蜜蜂too... but he will juz sing 嗡嗡嗡 嗡嗡嗡 all the way... :P

he can 'receite' 三轮车 too... but he summarise it.... here it goes..

well... it's interesting to hear him speak.. he's making more sense now.. and can convey his thots to us...

oh ya.. he loves erhu... everyday, he will want us to let him play with the erhu... else he will make a big fuss... hmmmm... muz be the 胎教 i gave him when i was preg.. hehehehe.... :P

can't wait to hear more of his sentences.. n hope he will be able to receite the correct version of 三轮车 soon.... :)

the bad days...

ever since PH starts going to childcare, he has become a very insecure kid... he seems to be possessed by the koala spirit.. and i think i look like a tree to him... kept wanting me to carry him.. hai~~

he's still crying.. teacher said tt he's a very stubborn boy.. was very heartache as he cried till he lost his voice... to make things worse, he caught the flu virus fr his classmates..

not sure if it's due to the flu.. he couldn't sleep well for the 3rd n 4th night in childcare.. for both nights.. it took longer to make him fall asleep... and he had a very disturbed sleep.. keep waking up to cry.. he can sleep for a few minutes, den woke up sobbing for few minutes.. den sleep again.. den sob again.. this kept repeating until 4am when he finally cannot tahan n sleep...... :( not sure if it's bcoz of childcare, or maybe due to his flu..... hai~~

over the weekend, he seems better.. he was able to sleep well.. juz wake up occassionally.. his flu got better.. but he developed a cough... but not very jialet lah... hope he will get well soon...

today will be back to childcare again..... hai~~

2nd/3rd day...

the 2nd/3rd day in childcare is almost the same as 1st day.. still crying during seperation.. hai~~ dunnoe how long it will take b4 he can settle down without fussing..

the tots hav sphagetti for lunch on wed.. n being a 'chinese' like his papa, he hates sphagetti.. :P so he din ate much... but drink milk instead... thurs lunch was fish porridge.. no prob at all.. :P

PH has a 奶奶 there... there's this auntie who cooks, wash n clean the center.. she's ard our mom's age... so PH got really attached to her... so paiseh... she got to help to pacify PH occassionally...

he was behaving normal aft we fetch him... but at night, it took him longer to fall asleep.. he will keep crying n crying.. and he oso wake up in the middle of the night to cry.... poor boy... hope he will get over it soon..... :)

he has been crying so much tt his voice sound hoarse on thurs... n he's falling sick.. been sneezing on thurs night.. with 鼻涕 somemore... muz hav got it fr his classmate.. will be bringing him to the pd tml morning.. den to the childcare center to let the teacher decide if he shd stay at home or in class...

today.. the teacher asked if i cried... when i told her i didn't, she jokingly said i bluff one... :P i really didn't cry... but my heart ache... poor PH.. cry until his voice hoarse liao.. i'm beginning to question myself if it's too soon to send him to childcare... shd i take him out of childcare? :(

First day in Childcare..

It's PH's first day in childcare.. preparation starts from the night before.. I had to prepare for the family's dinner the next day.. will have ginseng chicken soup with hubby while PH has his chicken soup with veggie... :)

early morning, i woke up to start cooking.. aft tt, wake PH up for his milk.. change into his uniform and off we go.. :) ohh... not forgetting some phototaking.. :P

happy PH playing with the s'pore flag... btw, he called the flag 'waseda'... this is bcoz hubby has a waseda university flag at home.. whenever PH wants to play with the flag, he will keep saying 'waseda'.. so.. now, he associate 'waseda' with flag... :P

in laws wanted to tag along to see his first day at school.. so we fetch them fr the mrt station and go to the childcare center together..

we reached the centre at 8.30am.. juz in time for breakfast.. they had ham sandwiches with milo.. all novelties to PH.. :P but he's not the least interested in them.. *scratch head* i would grab for these when i was a kid.. :P

aft breakfast, the kids gathered to watch tv while waiting for other kids to arrive.. PH refused to join them..

having fun while i was still ard... he didn't want to join the rest of the tots...



at abt 9am, the kids queue up to sing the National Anthem and pledge saying.. i was pretty amazed tt the pledge was said in mandarin... during pledge saying, Ms Hema (PH's tot group teacher IC) told us tt we can sneak away.. i was pondering between sneaking away and saying gdbye to PH.. hubby wanted to sneak away so tt PH won't cry while parting.. so i follow him lor.. but i regretted aft tt... poor PH muz be wondering y we left him there with strangers...

initially, PH didn't realise that we left.. so he juz stay in the group with his head lowered.. :P aft a while, he realised we were gone.. and he started to wail.. :P it took Ms Hema slightly longer than an hour to finally pacify him... :P during tt one hour, in laws kept hoping tt we will step in to pacify PH.. they were afraid tt it's too traumatising for PH.. but we wanted to give the teacher the chance to soothe him.. in laws couldn't bear to see PH suffering n left home first... :P

eventually, PH settled down.. he played by himself with minimal interaction with the tots.. still cry occassionally.. but at least, not as bad as before... we went away aft tt to run some errands.. need to go back home to bring his bolster over too...

lunch was served at 11.30am.. We were not ard.. but Ms Hema told me tt PH finish his bowl of bee hoon soup... hmmmm... seems like food with seasoning is really more yummy to him.. :P shortly aft lunch, the teacher bathed him n send him to sleep.. he slept after awhile... without his pacifier somemore.. i'm so proud of him.. :) finally we can walk to him n sayang him... poor boy.....

the centre engaged pple over to do music enrichment class.. tt's with additional payment of $180.. PH joined the class too... the class is only so so due to the limited facilities.. there's no piano... so most of the time, the facilitator juz kept singing n singing... still wondering if i shd enrol him for the class anot... :(

we pick him up slightly aft 4pm.. he was drinking water with his other tots frens.. it's such a cute sight seeing so many young ones sitting at the table.. :) once PH saw us, he started babbling... alot of stories to tell us.. :P he was really happy to see us...

Ms Hema said PH is quite vocal.. and he was quite attached to the auntie who cook lunch for them.. think it's mainly bcoz the auntie is ard the same age as my mom n MIL.. so he associated her with grannies... :P

hope he will be okie tml... :D

terrible 2 coming???

PH starts to test our limits now.. everytime anything is not according to wat he wants, he will start throwing tantrum.. he will cry until very jialet... if i'm the one who 'offended' him, he will run to hubby crying n vice versa... hai~~

today, he wanted to play with my erhu again.. i let him... but aft a while, i decided tt it's time for him to stop.. told him tt i will collect the erhu back fr him aft 1min is up.. he refused when times up n cried.. we gave him the erhu again n told him tt he has another min with it.. cried when we tried taking away the erhu fr him.. gave him the erhu again n this time i told him he has 5min.. but, he decided tt he had enough n pass the erhu back to us within 1min.. hai~~ really hav no idea how to deal with him...

time to go lib n borrow books on parenting......

sleepless night gone... for good?

after trying out the method for 3 days, PH seems to be able to settle down to sleep faster every night.. he din really fuss much n is able to fall asleep without me patting him... BUT, these few days, he has been sleeping in air con room with us due to seventh mth burning.... so, not sure if it's bcoz he loves our bed, or bcoz the method is gd... hopefully effect is the same when he's back in his own room...

pick up/ put down...

borrowed baby whisperer by tracy hogg from the lib.. but the book is mainly for below 1 year old... :( anyway, still decided to give it a try...

pick up/ put down is a way of giving the baby a sense of security.. by letting baby know tt u r ard... but not to let baby rely on you carrying him to sleep... the method is to carry baby when baby is crying.. the moment baby stops crying, put baby back in crib.. if halfway thru, baby starts crying, still put baby back into crib n tell baby tt he's juz trying to sleep.. repeat the same thing over n over again.. depending on individuals, the baby shd be able to calm down and drift to dreamland within an hour...

tried this with PH tonight.. carried him when he cried.. put him back once he stop crying.. juz kept repeating n reassuring him tt he's juz going to sleep.. and he will wake up a cheerful tot tml... aft endless pick up/ put down for 10min, he started to cry lesser n lesser... n eventually, i dun need to pick him up... i juz hug him tight when he cried n he will settle down... den, all of a sudden, he stop crying n slept... wow... the first time he slept with only 10min fussing!!

hmmmm... keeping my fingers crossed.... :P

PS: this method is definitely stressful on the back... :P hope my backache dun return.... :P
